Rider Education
Dear Members,
INTRODUCTION:
Welcome to the Chapter Educator section of the D2 web page. As web page development is a new experience for me I appreciate your patience, understanding, and suggestions as we start this new adventure together. Please contact me at monthly meetings, dinner rides, or e-mail, mrsilvereagle@hotmail.com with ideas for improvements to this section. Since this is a new adventure I will not make any initial promises that I am not sure that I can keep regarding the content and periods for review and up-date but will make an earnest attempt to keep this fresh and useful. I would expect that your adventure through the Rider Education department to be fun and exciting I will refrain from the announcing and review of social events to reduce redundancy.
GWRRA has a three leg philosophy regarding its membership of FUN – SAFETY – EDUCATION. The Rider Education division becomes responsible for the two legs of SAFETY & EDUCTION. Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) and GWRRA have a friendly and co operative relationship relating to motorcycle safety. In the state of Indiana MSF is the organization responsible for basic rider training and operator license issue. After some minimal driving experience both MSF and GWRRA offer advance training for the development of riding skills and attitudes. As GWRRA members express a desire to develop improved riding skills and safe attitudes, GWRRA has developed recognition LEVELS as recognition for these achievements. Attached below you will see a simplified graph of how these LEVELS are organized. A set of pins and patches are available for rider and co-rider as they achieve each level. D2 chapter has 100% participation, of active members, in the LEVEL I program. In addition approximately 39% have chosen to advance to MASTERS LEVEL IV recognition.
